As the tour to Chernobyl got cancelled, I decided to discover Kiew on my own by foot and walked 17000 steps.
First, going underground: Arsenalna is currently the deepest Metro station world wide:
and coming outside again at the Dnieper:
It was actually a nice – but cold – towards the Mother Motherland monument:
Another monument. For the founder of Kiew:
Just before the Motherland monument, a very intense war scene:
The monument is controversial and I’m happy to have seen it:
Entrance to Kiew Pechersk Lavra
The caves are interesting. One is not allowed to take pictures in them, though.
Up to the Sophia Cathedral
Ice on the fence in the bell tower:
And the bell tower itself:
A short walk to the golden gate of Kiew:
and a quick visit so some more Metro stations (which I really like)
Finishing the day “The Last Barricade”:
And now back home. Was a good thing going here.
